I’ve been thinking a lot about how everything feels a little too fast and a little too temporary lately.

You see something, maybe save it, and then it’s lost on your phone. Scrolled past, buried, or just forgotten.

There’s nothing to hold onto.

I have been obsessed with the idea of letters and the simple act of having something physical that you can keep and doesn’t disappear when you close a tab.

It feels like we’ve lost that a little. The habit of writing things down, sending them, and keeping them. The handwritten letter used to be such a normal way to connect and now it’s almost nonexistent.

So I guess this is my way of bringing a small part of that back.

Close to Home is a monthly letter from my journal sent to your mailbox.

It’s not meant to be perfect or overly curated. It’s just something real from that month that I've put into words and want to share with you. Some months it might feel more reflective, other months it might be simple or even a little messy. That’s kind of the point.

Each letter also comes with a few small additions from that month. Things I’ve been reading, collecting, or feel are worthy to be shared. Nothing excessive, just a few pieces that feel connected to that time.

I like the idea that over time, you’ll end up with a stack of these. Something you can tie together with string and keep under your bed. Maybe dust them off a few years from now and be reminded of where you were at this time.

A copied handwritten letter from my journal, a journal prompt to spark creativity, plus a few small additions from that month such as quotes I've been loving, things I’ve been reading, postcards, bookmarks... the possibilities are endless! (actually the possibilities are limited to what I can fit in an envelope)

Letters are mailed at the end of each month.

At this time, Close to Home letters are sent through traditional stamped mail and do not include tracking information.

Once your letter has been mailed, it begins its journey through the postal system just like a personal letter from a friend. Delivery times can vary depending on your location, local postal service, weather, and other factors.

Estimated delivery times:

United States: 1–3 weeks after mailing
International: 2–6 weeks after mailing

If your letter has not arrived after these timeframes, please reach out to us at hello@closetohomeletters.com. We'll be happy to confirm the shipping address we have on file and help determine the best next steps.

Your first letter will be included in the next monthly send. (For example, if you sign up in May, your first letter will be sent at the end of June.) All letters are shipped out on the last day of the month.

US delivery is usually 3–8 days. International delivery usually takes around 2–6 weeks but can take up to 9 weeks in some locations.

While most letters arrive within our estimated delivery window, occasional postal delays can happen.

If a letter cannot be delivered, it is typically returned to us by the postal service. Because standard stamped mail does not include tracking, we often need to allow time for the letter to either arrive or be returned to us before determining that it has been lost.

The return-to-sender process can take several weeks and sometimes as long as 4–8 weeks for international mail. Once a letter is returned, we'll confirm your address, repackage it, and send it out again.

If your letter has not arrived within 3–4 weeks of mailing (U.S.) or 6–8 weeks of mailing (international), please email us at hello@closetohomeletters.com.

We'll first confirm the shipping address we have on file. In some cases, letters are delayed in transit or returned to us by the postal service due to an address issue. Because standard stamped mail does not include tracking, we often need to allow enough time for the letter to either arrive or be returned to us before determining that it has been lost.

Please note that returned mail can take several additional weeks to make its way back to us. Once a letter is returned, we'll confirm your address, repackage your letter, and send it out again.

If your letter has not arrived and has not been returned to us after an extended period of time, we'll work with you to find a resolution.

Close to Home is currently available through a monthly subscription. If subscriptions are sold out, we occasionally open additional spots as space becomes available.

We also release a limited number of one-time letters after each month's subscription orders have been mailed. These drops are available while supplies last and are a great way to experience Close to Home without an active subscription.
